About Us

Welcome to the home of women’s voices.

The Women’s Prize Trust’s mission is to change the world through books by women, opening up pathways into reading and writing for the storytellers and booklovers of tomorrow.

The registered charity behind the Women’s Prize for Fiction – the greatest celebration of women’s creativity in the world for over two decades – we empower all women to raise their voice and own their story, regardless of their background.

We support women writers at all stages of development, providing coaching, inspiration and networks, to unlock potential, boost confidence and increase skills. We offer creative and accessible ways into fiction-writing, seeking to diversify the talent pipeline through development programmes such as Discoveries and our ‘Mistressclass’ writing workshops.

We work with all readers, prioritising access to and engagement with books by women for those who need them most, in order to increase empathy, expand imaginations and empower connection. We provide free books, reading group resources, and showcase the very best writing through an online library that illuminates diverse perspectives.

As a result, we are developing a global community of writers and readers, reducing social isolation and enhancing mental health and wellbeing.
